The Challenge
NW Natural had been a long-term Oshyn client, and our continued Sitecore DevOps expertise saw them return for additional help. They had begun suffering from several performance issues that impacted the overall user experience, such as user login delays of 30 seconds or more.
NW Natural needed continuous development support to fix these ongoing performance issues and improve the user experience for NW Natural users.
The Solution

Oshyn’s team of skilled developers and technical teams had made it a habit of being able to investigate and resolve issues quickly. Working collaboratively with NW Natural, the Oshyn team assessed the existing system to determine the root cause of performance issues and downtime.
“We recognized that the current website kept crashing. This meant before any upgrades or other changes could be made we needed to create a stable Sitecore environment and fix these issues.” said Oshyn developer Esteban Capello.
Oshyn identified and rectified architectural issues, performed a code cleanup, and resolved bottlenecks impacting performance. The project was executed in iterative two-week sprints, addressing issues identified by NW Natural and those discovered during development. Oshyn also set up system alerts and Sitecore performance monitoring to identify further issues and continue optimizing performance.
The Outcome
NW Natural now boasts a web application and platform with improved efficiency, reliability, and performance thanks to Oshyn’s assistance.
Some of the other results they’ve achieved include:
- Site pages load faster, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- The login process for those using the CMS decreased from 30 seconds or more to under 5 seconds.
